My latest custom ruler

Last October I ordered a custom-designed jpeg, showing five rulers, from an etsy vendor named Jessica Laurie Nelson-Griffith, in Las Vegas. Since then I've been using her design to customize rulers for special events, such as New Year's greetings, and meetings of groups I belong to. I just add text or images to her designs, either in PhotoShop or in Adobe Illustrator.

Jessica was great to work with; she created my custom order within a day and afterwards made sure I  had received my file and could open and use it. Excellent service!

The image below shows three rulers that I added text to for a meeting over the weekend of The Ticknor Society, a group of people who love all aspects of book culture, based in the Boston/Cambridge area and on which I serve on the board. One of the cut-out rulers didn't print well, but that's the fault of my old printer. Jessica's design included 5 white rulers lined up on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. I edited them, cut them out, and scanned 3 of them on a piece of violet-colored paper.

I think that custom rulers are such a fun idea! Everyone kid needs to use a ruler in school and a lot of adults use them too. You could put your company's brand on them for advertising and so many people would see it!
