This new accession is an advertising postcard from a shoe company in Des Moines, Iowa. W.L. Shoe Co. (hook= "The Sleepless Shoemen") went in an out of business from the 1890s until it was bought out in 1929 by the Field Shoe Co. This advertising postcard features a monthly calendar for May 1912; it's the only one from this company in my collection, though I have plenty of "Golden Rule" themed items.
What I don't know, yet, is what the small image on the left is. Looks like a spoon but may be something to tighten shoelaces? I will investigate! Ebay has some vintage "lace pullers" for sale that look very similar.
