Paper/cardstock for sure, but I had a hard time figuring out exactly what this was used for. It's not a blotter, and it seems to be die-cut, and the top right corner is printed in black. Conclusion, after consultation with the seller, and with some friends who are much more knowledgeable about ephemera than I am, that it was used as a type of lobby card, to help promote the film.
The Last of the Mohicans, the second and most popular novel of the five-volume Leatherstocking Tales by James Fenimore Cooper, was first published in two volumes in 1826.
This card advertises the 1936 film, described here in its Wikipedia entry: The Last of the Mohicans is a 1936 American historical western adventure film directed by George B. Seitz and starring Randolph Scott, Binnie Barnes and Henry Wilcoxon. The screenplay by Philip Dunne was based on the 1826 novel of the same name by James Fenimore Cooper. It was produced by Edward Small and distributed by United Artists.
